ENCCS is co-organising a Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF) session “Future of HPC Training: Where Are We Going?” at the ISC 2023 conference (https://www.isc-hpc.com/). With the HPC landscape evolving at an unprecedented pace, training offered by HPC centres, National Competence Centres and Centres of Excellence needs to evolve in tandem. The BoF session will focus on the challenges posed to training providers in the near and distant future and participants will explore how HPC training needs to change to meet the needs of future HPC users and how to get there.
The session will tackle three key aspects of HPC training that pose a challenge to training providers. Topics will include:
- Discussions on how energy efficiency fits into HPC training.
- Exploration regarding the training certification needed for different user communities. This could include HPC certification, micro-credentials, competency-based education, and digital badges.
- Finally, the BoF session will explore how to engage emerging HPC user communities in training activities. The aim is to develop attractive and relevant training for new user groups from digital humanities, the public sector, and industry.
Join us for this excellent opportunity for training providers to share examples, experiences, and ideas on emerging focus areas in HPC training!
