Inno4scale, a European initiative, aims to enhance exascale supercomputers’ efficiency by developing innovative algorithms. Many current high-performance computing codes won’t function efficiently on future exascale systems. The initiative will thus support applications primed to harness the power of the soon-to-be-released EuroHPC exascale systems. These groundbreaking applications will eventually be adopted by both the scientific community and industry sectors.
The central goal of Inno4scale is to aid the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, focused on deploying Exascale supercomputers in Europe. These supercomputers promise to tackle computational challenges previously deemed unaffordable. This will enable industries, sciences, and public sectors to significantly reduce computational time and tackle larger problems with innovative solutions.
Inno4scale is inviting proposals for research studies, aiming for proof-of-concept demonstrations of innovative algorithms with potential impacts on vital applications. Researchers are called upon to transform mathematical concepts into proof-of-concept implementations that can harness the capabilities of the upcoming exascale supercomputers. Proposals will be evaluated based on their potential to minimize resource consumption on European supercomputer infrastructure. Successful proposals are anticipated to begin at early-stage development and reach a more advanced stage by the end of a year.
