We talked to Hannes Eder Öhrström, business coach at KTH innovation, about how his work to support KTH startups with supercomputer resources.
Could you explain what KTH innovation is about?
At KTH Innovation, our mission is to support startups in turning their ideas into impactful innovations. By collaborating with key partners like ENCCS (The EuroCC National Competence Center Sweden), hosted by RISE, we’ve been able to provide startups in our portfolio with unparalleled access to world-class computing infrastructure and expertise.
Through this partnership, we identify promising startups that can benefit from supercomputing resources and introduce them to ENCCS. Their team of experts helps these startups apply for European supercomputing access and supports them in integrating supercomputer capabilities into their projects.
This collaboration has enabled us to provide startups with the tools they need to overcome technical barriers, scale their innovations, and make meaningful contributions to their respective fields.
Who have you helped in this way?
Startups Accelerated by KTH Innovation and ENCCS:
Startup | Business Area | Focus |
---|---|---|
Mappi | EdTech | Developing an AI-powered math tutor to revolutionize personalized education. |
Scatterin AB | Experimental infrastructure | Simplifying access to neutron and synchrotron X-ray facilities with Scatterin SaaS. |
Siina | Material development | Advancing materials discovery with software that designs novel inorganic materials. |
ClearScan AI | MedTech | Transforming breast cancer detection with AI that enhances mammogram screening accuracy. |
How does this fit into the bigger picture?
For university incubators like KTH Innovation, partnerships with initiatives like ENCCS are invaluable. Together, we are not only driving the success of individual startups but also demonstrating how academia, industry, and cutting-edge technology can come together to create lasting impact.
