NordicHPC Summit 2025 in Retrospect

On October 22, researchers, industry experts, policymakers and innovators gathered in Stockholm for the NordicHPC Summit 2025! The Summit is the leading event to strengthening collaboration & securing innovation across the nordics and EU.

We at ENCCS, together with the Nordic EuroCC National Competence Centres and Hyperight, hosted the Summit. It brought together participants from across the Nordics to share knowledge, build collaboration, and highlight the growing importance of advanced computing in research and industry.

A day full of insight and inspiration

The program featured keynote talks and panels on key topics such as:

  • Bridging Industry Needs and European Initiatives
  • Adopting HPC in an SME setting
  • Quantum, neuromorphic and emerging computing technologies
  • European initiatives like EuroHPC and the AI Factories

Speakers from organisations such as Novo Nordisk Foundation, LUMI AI Factory, CSC, GlobalConnect, Navigare Ventures, AI Sweden, and RISE shared both technical insights and strategic perspectives.
They discussed how AI and HPC can push innovation across sectors.

Throughout the day, discussions focused not only on technological progress, but also on how collaboration across countries and sectors can strengthen Europe’s digital autonomy.

Collaboration and community in focus

The exhibition area became a lively hub for networking and exchange. Here, the participants connected over coffee, shared ideas, and explored opportunities for collaboration.

The EuroCC Booth, jointly hosted by the Nordic competence centres, gave visitors the chance to meet HPC experts, discuss GPU computing, and learn how to apply for access to European supercomputers.

We were really glad to see the openness and curiosity among everyone at the Summit, as well as the shared ambition to strengthen the Nordic AI and HPC community!

Looking ahead

The NordicHPC Summit highlighted the strength of the Nordic community in driving innovation through AI and high-performance computing. The day was full of sharing, learning, and connecting. It also gave a reminder of what collaboration across countries and disciplines can achieve.

We’d like to thank everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussions. The conversations and ideas coming alive in Stockholm will continue to shape our work as we look ahead to the next Summit.
